Last month, I had the absolute pleasure of participating in my second Short Play Festival hosted by Native Voices at the Autry. This year’s theme was “More Than Moccasins,” and each of the nine shorts spoke to the affect of ‘dress codes’ on our identities. My play “Slow Your Roll” was inspired by, among other things, my nine years of fighting the uniform at my Catholic elementary school. I am immensely grateful to everyone who put this festival together, especially Courtney, Katie, Ryffin, Rachel, Kholan, Elisa, and DeLanna.
